The Diecasting Society Membership
Membership is open to both individual and companies alike. All we ask is that you or your company has an interest in the manufacture of diecast metal products. That interest might be as a foundry or a supplier to a foundry. Membership is not restricted to the UK. We do have some overseas members, but we feel we are best placed to support a UK-based membership.

Each member receives the Diecasting Society newsletter, bound within the leading industry magazine Cast Metal & Diecasting Times. This saves over £60 a year in subscription costs alone, more than twice the cost of a year's individual membership.
The Diecasting Society has the following categories of Membership
Company Membership
This is a unit subscription entitling an organisation to nominate one member of its staff as a member of the Society. This category also entitles four other members of the Company’s staff to attend functions for which additional payment is required from non-members, at the preferential rate normally accorded to full members.
Ordinary Member (M.D.Soc)
Applicants must show in addition to the requirements for Associate membership that they have a sound knowledge of diecasting and have served in a responsible position closely associated with diecasting for at least three years.
Trainee/ Student Membership
Any person under 30 having an interest in diecasting may apply for membership. This will entitle him or her to receive the benefits of membership at a reduced subscription, and service in this grade will be taken into account when seeking advancement in the Society.
Associate Member
Applicants for Associate membership should be or have been employed in the diecasting industry or in a research or educational establishment associated with diecasting.
Fellow (F.D.Soc)
Fellowship may only be conferred on members of at least five years standing. National Council may only confer Fellowship on the recommendation of the branch committees, while the total number of fellows is less than one quarter of the total individual membership. Fellows must have qualifications or experience, such as one of the following:-
1. An approved Honours Degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical or Production Engineering and four years experience in a responsible position designing, developing or manufacturing diecasting or diecasting equipment.
2. An approved Honours Degree in another Engineering or Scientific discipline of HND in Diecasting Technology and five years experience in a responsible position.
3. Seven years appropriate industrial experience at senior management level.
